This is a nice and lightweight backpack that is perfect for a day hike. There is enough room to put everything one might need for a hike.The straps have enough padding for what this backpack is designed for. The chest straps can be removed if so desired.The back of the backpack has two areas where the padding is nice and pretty thick which is good in case someone tends to over-pack like I'm guilty of on occasion.There is an area on each side to attach trekking poles as well as an area inside for a water bladder.All of the zippers are smooth and easy to grab. The pull tabs are big enough to grab as well. The zippers and pull tabs are easy to grab with gloves on.In conclusion, this is a very good lightweight backpack for someone who wants to get into hiking and doesn't want to carry a heavier backpack or doesn't need to pack a lot of stuff.

This is an odd little backpack. It has lots of features, that are fairly unnecessary for a backpack this size, and then it's missing some features that I find necessary.On the pro side, there are 3, very large compartments that will hold quite a bit of stuff. No real dividers or mini-pockets within, but that's OK with me. Just big pockets to dump stuff in. The front pocket isn't zippered, but it's deep, and there are no holes on the bottom, so nothing's going to fall out. The pack is lightweight, and just the thing I'd grab when I don't have a ton of stuff to haul. It has "pole holders" for when you're going out trekking, but honestly, this bag does not hold enough for me to consider using it for more than a half-day hike. The side mesh drink pockets are deep, and they hold bottles well; zero issue with things falling out.While it has a place for a hydration pack tube to come out, there is no holder for the hydration pack inside the pocket, so that makes it a bit useless. Also, the straps are wide and comfortable in the short term, but there is no padding to them, so they can get bunched up easily. I would not carry a laptop in this, as the padding is insufficient.All in all, this is a good half-day pack to just throw stuff in. Perhaps perfect for running a few things to work or stepping out for an afternoon outing, but not something I would consider for full hiking.
